As we continue to grow our commercial division, we're looking for an experienced Commercial Glass Estimator to join our team. If you have experience in commercial glazing and enjoy turning plans into successful projects, we'd love to hear from you. What You'll Do Review construction drawings and specifications Prepare accurate estimates and competitive bids for approval Work directly with general contractors, project managers, and suppliers Estimate storefront, curtain wall, entrances, glass, mirrors, and other commercial glazing systems Assist with project handoff after awarded contracts Build and maintain strong customer relationships throughout the bidding process What We're Looking For Experience estimating commercial glass and glazing projects preferred Ability to read architectural drawings and specifications Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines Knowledge of estimating software is a plus Experience in the glass industry or commercial construction required Why Join Sheppard's Glass? ✔ Family-owned company with over 55 years of success ✔ Full-time, stable position ✔ Monday-Friday schedule ✔ Weekends off ✔ Full benefits package ✔ Competitive pay based on experience ✔ Opportunity for long-term career growth Responsibilities Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material requirements and costs Use estimating software to prepare detailed bids and proposals Manage multiple projects simultaneously by developing comprehensive estimates that include labor, materials and equipment Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to negotiate pricing and terms that align with project budgets Analyze project plans to identify potential cost savings and risk factors while maintaining quality standards Track project budgets, monitor cost control measures, and update estimates as project scope evolves Prepare detailed spreadsheets and reports to support bid submissions and project documentation Qualifications Proven experience in managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry Strong proficiency with estimating software Excellent blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately Solid understanding of construction drawing review, material cost estimating, and construction site experience Skilled in negotiation, client communication, and contract review processes Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheets for estimating and cost analysis Knowledge of construction industry standards related to cost management, material requirements estimation, and project budgeting Background in construction management or related field is highly preferred Join us to be part of a dedicated team where your estimation expertise will directly contribute to successful commercial projects.
