Estimating Manager Qualifications:
  • College education is preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication, materials, welding, machining, punching, cutting and forming are preferred
  • Proficient in general computer knowledge, Microsoft Office Suite of products and other job-related software, such as E2 is preferred
  • Excellent and professional communication skills
  • Self-motivated, ability to focus in a busy office and to work under general supervision
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of materials, metallurgy, basic welding, punching, cutting and forming a plus
  • Skilled in math, drawing interpretation, material take-offs skills and estimating preferred
  • Ability to be a team player and work with other staff members
  • Ability to model, teach, and promote Woven Metal Product's core values of reliable quality, a partnership attitude, and attention to detail
Summary:
The Estimator Project Manager at Woven Metal Products maintains frequent contact with customers and is responsible for understanding the specifics of customer requests and for providing excellent customer service. Moreover, Estimator Project Manager generates estimates and quotes for customer requests including reviewing material needs, working with materials vendors to obtain pricing information, estimating man-hours required, following up with clients as needed, processing purchase orders when received, entering order acknowledgements, tracking job progress, working with internal drafting department, and more.
Primary Roles:
Estimate and Quote Generation, Order/Purchase Order Entry, Job and Purchase Order Tracking, creating and sending
Order Acknowledgements, Project Management, Purchasing Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Develop accurate project estimates and quote inquiries based on client specifications; respond to customers in appropriate time frame
  • Meet or exceed goals for margins on quoted projects
  • Follow-up with customers to inquire about open quotes or issues as needed
  • Provide excellent customer service and professional communications within brand standards
  • Foster business relationships with clients through effective communication and timely responses
  • Research material pricing as it relates to quote development
  • Execute order entry and follow all procedures necessary
  • Provide input and feedback to leadership team to communicate customer needs, pain points, and quote feedback to help effect changes to better compete in the market
  • Support internal employees with various tasks, as needed
  • Project management, ensuring timely and accurate progress of projects with production from beginning to completion, troubleshooting as needed, and communicating to clients
  • Generate and support sales, business development, and overall customer needs
  • Possesses the business acumen and industry knowledge to provide solutions for client issues and trouble-shoot or pull in appropriate resources as needed
  • Steward of company resources in sourcing, material use, labor and more with an eye towards minimizing waste
  • Maintain a close working relationship with Sales team helping to facilitate discussions with customers when further subject matter and technical expertise is required
  • Work to maintain accurate data through E2 entries, invoicing support, SharePoint, ZOHO and more
  • Understand and value other parts of the company, their roles, and work with each department effectively
  • Execute all tasks assigned by supervisor
  • Always observe safety procedures, ensuring all company employees adhere to requirements
