Pay $35-40 Depending on Experience Job Description/ Purpose Our exterior cladding company is looking to hire a Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate has experience identifying ideal bid opportunities, reading blueprints and specifications, creating takeoffs, preparing comprehensive proposals, and getting contracts signed. Company Background Rojas Exteriors LLC is an established specialty contractor Greater Seattle area specializing in exterior cladding, with our top services including Stucco, Siding. We have over 15 years of experience in construction and a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, and public works. We are a rapidly growing business looking for innovative individuals who wear many hats and optimize business operations. Duties & Responsibilities Review blueprints and communicate with customers to understand the scope of projects Read project manuals to determine material and labor requirements Create accurate takeoffs from blueprints using construction software or take onsite measurements Study specified material literature to understand installation processes Find material distributors and request pricing Assist in material procurement and maintain pricing Estimate labor costs to install products Type organized estimates and contracts specific to each project Customer relationship management and proposal follow up Build positive relationships with general contractors, distributors, and manufacturers Communicate with colleagues and contractors to ensure smooth transitions from preconstruction to project management Maintain organized documentation of the estimating process Qualifications High School Diploma or GED 3-5 years of related experience in estimating, project engineering, or project management preferred Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and communication tools Familiarity with the construction of building envelopes and cladding or similar trade preferred Skills Technical Capacity (
MS Office Suite:
Outlook, Word, Excel; Internet tools) Strong understanding of arithmetic, algebra, and geometry. Good spatial reasoning Able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines Written and verbal communication proficiency Time management and organization Critical thinking, problem-solving, and research Strong self-efficacy Great attention to detail Physical Requirements & Working Conditions While performing the job duties, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, and climb a case of stairs. The employee must regularly lift and move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 40 pounds. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Occasional job site visits in exposed weather conditions. These may be active job sites with unsure footing. Position Type and Hours of Work This is a full-time position with hourly pay. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
