While our projects are heavy-hitting, our culture is intentionally streamlined—as a tightly held small company we skip the corporate red tape, rigid silos, and employee numbers. You will work closely with leadership, general contractors, and field crews, making a direct and visible impact on major, local projects from day one. This role offers the best of both worlds: you will have the autonomy to drive numbers and strategy in the office, combined with the satisfaction of spending time out on the jobsite leading crews and seeing your projects take shape. This Estimator/Project Manager role is ideal for a hands-on professional who wants to own earthwork projects from bid to completion.
Role Description:
Based in Green Bay, WI, this full-time Estimator/Project Manager will develop accurate cost estimates and manage earthwork projects from bid to completion. Key responsibilities include reading civil plans, utilizing Agtek software for quantity takeoffs (specifically for soil removals and replacements), soliciting subcontractor and material quotes, managing/scheduling field crews, and equipment. The ideal candidate has experience with earthmoving equipment and soil properties and a track record of running commercial and industrial projects. A Construction Management degree is a plus, but equivalent experience is fully accepted in lieu of a degree. Salary is commensurate with experience. Qualifications Strong construction estimating and project estimation skills, with the ability to interpret civil and structural drawings and specifications to perform accurate quantity takeoffs. Effective communication skills for collaborating with crews, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients, and for preparing clear reports and proposals. Experience in construction or excavation project management, including scheduling, resource coordination, and on-site problem-solving. Proficiency with estimating software, Excel, and basic project management tools; familiarity with construction management systems is a plus. Knowledge of excavation methods, site work practices, and relevant safety regulations; OSHA awareness or certification is beneficial. Ability to work on-site in varying weather conditions, conduct field visits, and engage directly with operations teams. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or a degree in construction management or a related field is an advantage. Strong background in civil or heavy civil construction projects with hands-on construction site experience. Excellent leadership skills with experience managing teams in a construction management role on large-scale projects. Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
