Wise Coatings of Hampton Roads

Resin Flooring Installation Lead

Job Description

EXPERIENCED EPOXY FLOORING INSTALLER
Wise Coatings of Hampton Roads Experienced Installer | Team Leadership | Growth Opportunity The Opportunity Wise Coatings of Hampton Roads is seeking an experienced epoxy and resinous flooring installer with at least 3 years of industry experience. We are looking for more than someone who can install a floor. We want a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in the finished product, can help lead a crew, and wants to contribute to building a high-performing team. This is a hands-on production role. You will be expected to bring real field experience while remaining willing to learn our systems, products, standards, and processes. The right person is confident in their skills without assuming there is nothing left to learn. What You'll Own Lead and participate in residential and commercial resinous flooring installations from preparation through final walkthrough. Evaluate concrete conditions and perform proper mechanical surface preparation, including grinding, edging, crack repair, patching, and other required remediation. Install epoxy, polyaspartic, polyurea, broadcast-flake, and related coating systems according to company and manufacturer standards. Manage mixing, application timing, broadcast consistency, scraping, topcoating, edges, transitions, and finish quality. Help organize jobsite workflow, equipment, materials, crew assignments, and daily production priorities. Coach less-experienced installers in safe, efficient, repeatable installation practices. Communicate job progress, site conditions, material needs, customer concerns, and potential problems before they become larger issues. Protect company equipment, maintain an organized work area, and leave every jobsite clean and professional. Take ownership of quality and help prevent callbacks, rework, and avoidable material or labor waste. Leadership & Team Development We are building a team that can win consistently without sacrificing quality. Experienced installers are expected to help set that standard. Lead by example through work ethic, professionalism, preparation, and attention to detail. Give clear direction and constructive feedback to developing installers. Be willing to explain the "why" behind good installation practices instead of simply completing the work yourself. Accept coaching and feedback from company leadership, even when the process differs from methods used at previous employers. Help identify better ways to improve safety, quality, efficiency, training, and jobsite organization. Put team results ahead of ego and help create an environment where people are accountable to one another. Customer & Jobsite Standards Communicate professionally with customers before, during, and after installation. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite. Ensure crew behavior builds customer confidence in the company and the work being performed. Follow company standard operating procedures, job notes, safety requirements, and documentation standards. Recognize when conditions require management involvement rather than pushing forward and risking quality. What We're Looking For Minimum 3 years of hands-on epoxy, polyaspartic, polyurea, or comparable resinous flooring experience. Demonstrated knowledge of concrete preparation and coating installation—not simply painting experience. Ability to operate floor grinders, hand grinders, vacuums, mixing equipment, and common installation tools safely and efficiently. Ability to recognize common concrete and coating problems and make sound field decisions. Leadership potential and the ability to direct or mentor other installers without creating unnecessary friction.
Learning mentality:
experienced enough to contribute immediately, but open enough to adopt better methods and company standards. Positive, team-first attitude with strong personal accountability. Dependable attendance, professional communication, and willingness to work the schedule required to complete jobs correctly. Valid driver's license and ability to meet the physical demands of flooring installation. How Success Is Measured Consistent installation quality and attention to detail. Low callback and rework rate. Efficient use of labor, materials, equipment, and jobsite time. Ability to keep a crew productive without sacrificing quality or safety. Growth and performance of less-experienced team members working alongside you. Professional customer experience and jobsite communication. Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and continuously improve. Compensation & Growth Compensation will be discussed during the hiring process and will reflect demonstrated experience, capability, and the level of responsibility the candidate can successfully take on. This role is intended for an experienced installer with leadership potential. Strong performers who demonstrate technical ability, accountability, sound judgment, and the ability to develop others will have opportunities to take on greater responsibility as the company and production team grow. Apply If you have at least 3 years of resinous flooring experience and want to join a company where your experience can help build a stronger team—not just complete another install—send us your resume or a summary of your experience. Photos or examples of completed work are encouraged.
