Job Description
LEAD WINDOW TREATMENT INSTALLER
Some people install window treatments. Great installers finish the room. We're looking for someone who takes genuine pride in their work. Someone who notices when something is 1/8" off before anyone else does. Someone who doesn't walk away from a problem just because the installation became more difficult than expected. And someone who understands that when you're working inside a customer's home, how you treat that customer matters just as much as how well you install their shades. Budget Blinds is looking for an experienced Lead Window Treatment Installer to become a key member of our installation team. This is not simply an installation job. You will be the final step in a customer's experience with our company—and often the person who turns a great product into a finished room the customer loves.

What You'll Do Professionally install custom blinds, shades, shutters, motorized window treatments, drapery, exterior shades and other specialty window covering products. Take the lead on installations and ensure every finished job meets our standards for quality, appearance and operation. Troubleshoot challenging installations and find solutions when the unexpected happens. Handle complex products, unusual windows, specialty mounting conditions and motorized products with confidence. Inspect completed work from the customer's perspective—not simply from the perspective of whether the product works. Protect customers' floors, furnishings, walls and property while working in their homes, and leave every jobsite as clean—or cleaner—than you found it. Communicate professionally with customers throughout the installation and keep them informed if schedules or circumstances change. Demonstrate completed products and make sure customers understand how to properly operate and care for them. Handle installation or product concerns calmly and professionally and work toward solutions rather than simply identifying problems. Communicate clearly with our Design Consultants, office team and vendors when troubleshooting or follow-up is needed. Document product issues, measurements, photos and remake/service needs accurately so problems can be resolved quickly. Help train and support other installers as our installation team continues to grow. Maintain company tools, equipment and installation vehicle with the same level of care you would give your own. Come prepared, stay organized and take ownership of the day's schedule from the first installation through the last. The Person We're Looking For You may already be an experienced window treatment installer—or you may come from finish carpentry, cabinetry, millwork, construction, remodeling or another skilled trade where precision matters. Window treatment experience is highly valued, but craftsmanship, mechanical ability, problem-solving skills and character matter just as much to us. Takes tremendous pride in doing something correctly the first time. Is naturally detail-oriented and notices the little things. Has strong mechanical and problem-solving ability. Is comfortable using power tools, hand tools and ladders. Can think on their feet when the original installation plan doesn't work. Doesn't need someone constantly looking over their shoulder to get the job done. Understands that "good enough" isn't always good enough. Is dependable and shows up when customers and teammates are counting on them. Can work efficiently without sacrificing quality. Communicates comfortably and professionally with homeowners. Remains calm when a customer is frustrated or something goes wrong. Treats customers' homes and belongings with respect. Works well with Design Consultants, office staff, vendors and fellow installers. Has a valid driver's license and safe driving history. Is capable of performing the physical requirements associated with residential window treatment installation. Can pass a background check What We Provide This is a W-2 employee position, not an independent contractor role. You will be part of a 2-man crew with an experienced installation tech so that every project is more physically manageable. Company installation vehicle for business use. Tools and equipment necessary to perform the job are supplied. The backing of a locally owned company combined with the products, vendors, resources and buying power of the nationally recognized Budget Blinds brand. A primary installation territory throughout Statesville and Hickory, with some work throughout our other Budget Blinds territories of Lake Norman, Denver & Lincolnton. If you're the kind of person who looks back at your work before you leave a room because you want to be proud of what you just accomplished, we'd like to meet you.
