Fabricator (Part-Time) KNS Industrial Supply Santa Fe Springs, CA Job Details Part-time $22 - $28 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance 401(k) Paid time off Life insurance Qualifications Welders (tool) High school diploma or GED Attention to detail Trade school Power tools Full Job Description KNS is looking for a part-time Fabricator to support our custom metal fabrication capabilities, producing and prepping components for our industrial, shipbuilding, and municipal water infrastructure clients. This role is a great fit for someone with hands-on metalworking experience — particularly with pipe, structural steel, and stainless materials — who is looking for flexible, part-time hours. Materials You'll Work With Carbon steel and structural steel Stainless steel (seamless and welded pipe) Copper and copper-nickel (CuNi) pipe Valves, fittings, and flanges (PVF) Raw metal stock and plate Responsibilities Interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams for pipe, valve, fitting, and structural steel components Measure, mark, cut, trim, and shape raw materials, including steel, stainless steel, and copper/CuNi pipe Weld, braze, and solder pieces to create finished parts, following specs appropriate to industrial, shipbuilding, and municipal water infrastructure applications Align parts and connect them with bolts, screws, flanges, and other fasteners to build larger components Conduct quality checks; identify and correct defects, particularly for pressure-rated pipe and fitting work Document batch numbers, completion times, and measurements Inspect tools and equipment before and after use; report any signs of wear and tear Adhere to all government regulations, organizational policies, and industry best practices related to safety and accident prevention (relevant given KNS's government and municipal contract work) Qualifications Prior experience as a fabricator, welder, machine operator, or in a related trade Experience working with stainless steel and/or copper/CuNi pipe a plus, given our PVF and shipbuilding client base Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical schematics Proficiency with hand tools and fabrication equipment (e.g., welders, cutters, grinders) Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control Understanding of workplace safety standards (OSHA or equivalent) High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or vocational certification a plus Schedule Part-time — hours and days to be discussed based on candidate availability and business needs.
