Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and energetic Metal Fabricator to join our dynamic team. The Metal Fabricator will create metal components, brackets and fixtures used in the assembly of electrical transformers and must have the ability to work independently to effectively support the Production/Assembly process. The Metal Fabricator works with the Plant Manager to support production/assembly by the fabrication/adaptation of materials that are needed/required. This role serves as support to various departments at the site. The Metal Fabricator must be a highly motivated, ambitious individual with the ability to work at a fast pace to keep up with the demand for parts. This person should be inquisitive with an investigative mindset and possess natural intellectual curiosity. The individual should have a demonstrated track record of success and possess a strong desire to learn and grow. They must be a team player with the ability to handle multiple priorities. Responsibilities Adhere to plant safety requirements and plant policies. Promote a positive safety culture, leading by example. Fabricate and construct metal components. Metals used will include copper, aluminum, stainless steel, and zinc-plated metals. Use machinery and tools to include grinders, plasma cutters, presses, benders, drills, crimpers, and welders. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Measure and mark out cutting and bending lines. Set up metalwork machinery. Double-check design specifications and measurements before commencing with work. Cut, crimp, and heat shrink electrical wires. Grind and finish completed products. Perform detailed quality checks on completed parts and components to ensure adherence to specifications. Complete job reports. Maintain all tools and equipment. Communicate regularly with Design Engineering and Production/Assembly teams regarding fabrication needs and any quality issues. Maintain and ensure a safe working environment. All other job duties as assigned. Requirements High School Diploma, General Educational Development (GED) or equivalent. Must have 3+ years of recent metal fabrication experience. Must be local to the greater Augusta, GA area and able to commute to the Waynesboro location. A track record of timely execution of duties while ensuring accuracy and consistency. Proven experience working on construction sites or in a metal fabrication shop environment. Proficiency with blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and shop math. From $18.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
