Job Description

Welder Job Summary The Welder is responsible for fabricating and assembling steel components used in the construction of modular buildings. This position requires the ability to read blueprints, accurately measure and cut materials, perform quality welds, and safely operate welding and fabrication equipment while maintaining production schedules and quality standards. Pay & Hours $20 per hour 6am to 230pm M-F, some OT required (no weekends) 30-minute unpaid lunch with a 10-minute break as well Essential Duties and Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and production specifications. Measure, mark, and cut steel components to required dimensions. Perform MIG welding on structural steel and metal components. Assemble steel frames and structural assemblies according to specifications. Operate welding equipment, cutting torches, grinders, saws, and other fabrication tools. Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality and safety standards. Clean and prepare metal surfaces before and after welding. Repair or rework welds when necessary to meet quality requirements. Safely handle and move materials using appropriate lifting equipment. Maintain welding equipment and keep work areas clean and organized. Follow all company safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Work with production team members to meet daily production goals. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications HSD/GED Preferred Previous MIG welding experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings. Ability to accurately read a tape measure. Knowledge of welding techniques and fabrication processes. Experience using grinders, cutting torches, saws, and other fabrication equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic math and measurement skills. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds or more with assistance when required. Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and reach throughout the workday. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, sparks, and welding fumes. Ability to wear required PPE, including welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficient in MIG welding techniques. Strong mechanical aptitude. Ability to maintain accuracy while working in a fast-paced production environment. Commitment to workplace safety and quality craftsmanship.
