Core responsibilities Interpret blueprints, detailed drawings, and layout specifications for marine structures. Fit, align, and assemble structural sections used in ship and barge fabrication. Prepare components for welding by measuring, cutting, grinding, and tacking. Use hand and power tools, cutting torches, grinders, and standard shipyard equipment to complete tasks. Work environment Hands-on fabrication and fitting in a shipyard setting where accuracy, alignment, and readiness for welding are the daily focus.
