We're expanding our team and looking for skilled Ironworkers who know how to handle, fit, rig, and burn heavy iron. What You'll Do (Responsibilities): Read, interpret, and work directly from structural blueprints, detail drawings, and welding symbols to lay out and assemble heavy steel structures. Position, align, and secure structural steel components (beams, columns, trusses, plates, and girders) using bolts, clamps, jacks, turnbuckles, and tack welding. Participate in our mandatory team stretching program at the start of every shift to keep the crew safe, flexible, and injury-free. Safely rig, hoist, and signal overhead cranes and material handling equipment to move massive iron components through the shop. Utilize oxy-fuel torches, plasma cutters, carbon arc gougers, and grinders to cut, shape, and prep steel for final assembly. Perform high-quality structural tacking and welding (primarily FCAW/Dual Shield) to lock fabrications in place. What We're Looking For (Qualifications):
Testing Requirement:
Must be able to successfully pass a hands-on blueprint reading, rigging/fitting layout, and welding test prior to formal hire.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a structural ironworker, fitter, or fabricator in a heavy shop, shipyard, or industrial field environment.
Trade Skills:
Expert capability in reading complex drawings, taking precise measurements, and applying proper rigging techniques.
Tools & Processes:
Proficient with torches, ironworkers, saws, and structural welding processes (FCAW/Dual Shield preferred).
Physical Requirements:
Commitment to daily shift stretching; ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in varied physical positions, and navigate a heavy industrial shop environment safely.
Pay:
$28.00 per hour
