Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Marine Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding and metal fabrication on marine structures, vessels, and related components. Your expertise will ensure that all projects meet strict safety standards, adhere to industry regulations, and satisfy client specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse marine construction projects, utilizing advanced welding techniques and mechanical knowledge to deliver durable, precision-engineered solutions. Duties Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to guide fabrication and welding processes. Perform welding operations using various techniques including FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Measure metal materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication. Cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal and other metal materials utilizing plasma cutters, power tools, and machining equipment. Fabricate marine components by following safety protocols, adhering to construction site procedures, and maintaining quality control throughout the process. Operate cranes, forklifts, and other heavy machinery safely within a fabrication shop or construction site environment. Inspect completed welds for quality assurance using calipers, micrometers, and visual inspection techniques; make necessary adjustments or repairs as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area while complying with all safety regulations related to welding, metal fabrication, and construction activities. Requirements Proven construction site experience with a focus on metal fabrication or welding projects. Demonstrated expertise in various welding techniques including FCAW, MIG, TIG, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding. Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints accurately. Strong mechanical knowledge of metal materials, sheet metal fabrication, and manufacturing processes. Proficiency with measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers; capable of performing shop math calculations confidently. Experience operating cranes, forklifts, plasma cutters, power tools, and machining equipment safely. Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding operations and construction environments; commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Excellent hand tool skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings for precise fabrication tasks. Familiarity with AWS standards for welding quality assurance; understanding of basic math applicable to fabrication work. Ability to work effectively in a team setting within a fast-paced construction or fabrication shop environment.
