In this energetic position, you will handle recyclable materials, operate forklifts, and ensure environmental compliance while maintaining safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to sustainable practices and efficient material handling, supporting our commitment to environmental responsibility and community well-being. Duties Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to load, unload, and transport scrap metals and recyclable materials. Handle recyclable materials with precision, ensuring proper sorting, storage, and disposal in accordance with environmental regulations. Conduct routine inspections of equipment and work areas to identify hazards, perform maintenance checks, and ensure all safety protocols are followed. Assist in the cleaning and organization of work sites to maintain a safe and efficient environment for all team members. Follow hazardous materials regulations during handling of potentially dangerous substances or metals containing hazardous components. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) consistently to safeguard against injuries during heavy lifting, equipment operation, or handling hazardous materials. Requirements Proven experience operating heavy machinery such as loaders, forklifts, or similar material handling equipment. Mechanical knowledge related to scrap metal processing and recycling operations. Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly while maintaining safety standards. Outdoor work experience with a strong understanding of environmental compliance and safety regulations. Familiarity with hazardous materials regulations and safety protocol adherence is highly desirable. Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive approach to safety and sanitation procedures. Valid certifications for forklift operation or heavy equipment operation are a plus but not mandatory; training can be provided for qualified candidates. Pay:
From $17.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
