Role Description The Fabricator role at Midland Machinery is a full-time, on-site position based in Tonawanda, NY. In this role, the Fabricator will cut, shape, and assemble metal components for road widening machinery using tools such as saws, grinders, welders, and measuring instruments. Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints, fitting and welding parts, performing basic quality checks, and collaborating with production and engineering teams to ensure equipment is built to specification. The Fabricator will also maintain a clean and safe work area, follow all safety procedures, and assist with troubleshooting and repairs on existing equipment when needed. Qualifications Hands-on fabrication skills, including cutting, forming, and assembling metal parts using common shop tools and equipment. Basic welding abilities (e.g., MIG, TIG, or stick), with an understanding of proper techniques and safety practices. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and measurements with attention to detail and accuracy. General mechanical aptitude and familiarity with manufacturing or industrial environments. Commitment to workplace safety, including proper use of PPE and adherence to company safety policies. Strong problem-solving skills, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Prior experience in metal fabrication, machining, or equipment assembly is highly beneficial. High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in welding or fabrication is a plus.
