Responsibilities Maintain safety for the employee, team and clients as a priority Remove, Install, repair, fabricate and/or maintain sheet metal roofing systems as well as flashing & trim Perform heavy lifting and maneuvering of materials and debris on construction sites. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and project completion Utilize tools and equipment safely while adhering to all safety regulations Minimum Requirements Valid drivers license Means of transportation to various job sites (typically within 60 miles of Utica) - travel mileage is paid per Union agreements Ability to safely lift 70 pounds with no restrictions Willingness and ability to learn various trade procedures and detailing Ability to climb ladders with no restrictions Ability to safely use basic construction hand tools (hammer, utility knife, tape measure, metal cutting and forming tools) Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Strong communication skills Must apply and qualify to join the Local 58 Sheet Metal Union to participate Preferred Skills (additional pay consideration) Basic commercial construction - light or heavy commercial preferred Experience with various roofing materials and techniques with an emphasis on sheet metal roofs and components, including gutters and downspouts Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Basic construction skills including field measurements, cutting and planning Forklift and light equipment operation experience
