Installer Location:
Walnut Bottom, PA (Shop-based daily + local job sites)
Pay Rate:
$28.00 - $32.00 per hour (Dependent on Experience)
Job Type:
Full-Time, Direct Hire Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Occasional overtime available) About the Role Spherion is in search of an Experienced Stairs & Railing Fabricator/Installer . This is a safety-sensitive, full-time position primarily focused on layout, shop fabrication, fitting, and field installation of custom metal stairs, railings, handrails, guardrails, platforms, ladders, and miscellaneous metals.

Great Schedule:
Primary shift is Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Local projects with minimal travel).
Tools Provided:
All major shop tools, hand tools, power tools, and vehicles are provided by the company! (We recommend bringing your personal welding hood).
Vehicle & Physical Provided:
Company vehicles are available for daytime site travel. We will provide a Non-CDL DOT physical for driving company vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
Steel & Aluminum Fabrication:
Custom-fabricate miscellaneous metal products (stairs, railings, catwalks, ladders, platforms, etc.) based on shop drawings.
Welding & Machining:
Operate MIG welding equipment, plasma/torch cutting tools, grinders, pipe benders, and fabrication machinery.
Shop Assembly:
Fit and assemble components in the shop, ensuring accurate dimensions, proper alignment, and strict adherence to specifications.
On-Site Installation:
Transport and install fabricated steel/aluminum on commercial, residential, and industrial sites, resolving fit-up or site challenges independently.
Equipment Operation:
Safely operate material handling equipment including overhead cranes, scissor lifts, and forklifts.
Collaboration & Quality:
Communicate effectively with Production Supervisors, Project Managers, and team members to meet quality standards and tight deadlines.
Safety & Cleanliness:
Maintain an organized, safe workspace in both shop and field environments, strictly following OSHA and company safety guidelines.
Job Qualifications:
Experience:
5+ years of experience in structural steel and/or aluminum fabrication of miscellaneous metals (stairs, railings, ladders, gates, etc.).
Welding Skills:
Proficient in MIG welding (Welding Certifications are a strong plus).
Blueprint Reading:
Ability to independently read and interpret structural blueprints, shop drawings, and sketches.
Driver's License:
Valid Driver's License required (must pass employer-provided Non-CDL DOT physical to operate company vehicles).
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED; must be at least 18 years of age.
Equipment Mastery:
Skilled with hand/power tools, shop machinery, forklifts, and scissor lifts.
Core Competencies:
Strong mechanical aptitude, basic mathematical skills, and layout precision. Positive work ethic and team-oriented attitude. Proactive problem-solving and anticipation of site/fit-up issues. Strong commitment to safety regulations and quality craftsmanship.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Environment:
Works daily out of the Walnut Bottom shop with local field installations (commercial, residential, new construction, and renovations).
Lifting Ability:
Exert maximum muscle force to lift, pull, or carry up to 100 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs regularly .
Physical Stamina:
Continuous standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, balancing, and manipulating tools across an 8-hour shift.
Vision & Control:
Excellent vision skills and steady hand-arm control for precision welding and structural assembly.
