Job Duties:
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout and assembly procedures. Measure, cut, fit, and shape steel pipe and plate components using hand and power tools, including saws, torches, and plasma cutters. Perform layout and fitting of structural steel members, including beams, columns, braces, pipes, and plates, according to project requirements. Align and fit structural and pipe steel components using techniques such as welding, bolting, and riveting to ensure proper alignment and structural integrity. Verify dimensions and alignments of assembled components using levels, squares, and other measuring tools. Fabricate, install, and weld temporary support structures as needed to hold steel components in place during assembly. Collaborate with welders, crane operators, and other team members to coordinate workflow and ensure efficient project execution. Adhere to safety protocols and all OSHA safety rules and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others. Inspect and test completed work to ensure quality standards are met and make adjustments as necessary. Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a clean and organized manner. Must have working knowledge of modular fabrication practices, including shop-based assembly of pre-engineered structural and piping modules, interpretation of module drawings and tie-in points, dimensional control, and the methods used to transport and erect completed modules at final installation sites. No education required.
Minimum of 12 months experience required.
Pre-employment drug test required, cost paid by employer and applied equally to all workers.
Pre-employment medical physical required, cost paid by employer and applied equally to all workers.
Must pass a written and functional test administrated at the project worksite in Texas at employer's expense.
Must be able to lift and/or move a minimum of 50 lbs.
Must be willing and able to climb and work in high places that may exceed 200 feet in height, and in confined spaces.
Applicant must complete an employment application. The employer will offer a minimum of 40 hours of work per week. Worker will work one of two shifts: 7:00am-3:30pm or 3:30pm to 12:00am on varying days of the week from Monday through Sunday based on client need. Shifts include 30 minutes unpaid break time. Workdays, hours, and shift time may vary depending on weather. Workers will be provided with on-the-job training to perform the duties assigned.
Basic wage rate:
$22.93 per hour. Employer may increase wage or offer bonus based on experience, performance, tenure, and/or market conditions. If applicable an overtime premium will be paid when required by Federal, State, or local law, including at time-and-a-half after 40 hours per workweek. Overtime hours may be available at $34.40 per hour. The employer will use a single work week as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will be paid weekly. Employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law. Employer will assist worker in finding appropriate and affordable housing. If applicable, employer will deduct from payroll any mutually agreed to charges. Employer will provide or assist the worker in locating optional daily transportation between housing and the worksite. The cost of daily transportation will be deducted from the worker's paycheck if the worker elects. The employer will reimburse H-2B workers in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees). The employer will provide worker at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform job. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily meals will be provided at a rate of at least $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68 per day with receipts. If necessary, employer will reimburse worker within first pay period for approved cost of meals and lodging at the applicable exchange rate, not to exceed reasonable costs.
