Job Description
Steel Fitter / Fabricator Join the Extreme Steel team! Extreme Steel, Inc. is a growing AISC-certified structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabricator and erector serving the DC, Virginia, and Maryland areas. We are looking for motivated, dependable individuals to join our team as Steel Fitters / Fabricators . What You'll Do Measure, lay out, align, and fit structural steel components according to blueprints and shop drawings. Position and move steel materials using overhead cranes or forklifts. Prepare steel for welding by grinding, cleaning, and fitting components. Perform tack welding and assist with fabrication in accordance with drawings and specifications. Finish fabricated metal by removing slag, weld spatter, and excess material. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Support general shop operations and other production tasks as needed. Requirements Minimum 1 year of experience in structural steel fitting or fabrication. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
