Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Welder specializing in MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will contribute to the creation of high-quality metal structures and products, ensuring adherence to safety standards and technical specifications. Duties Perform MIG welding on various metal materials, including sheet metal and structural components, following detailed blueprints and technical drawings. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to accurately measure and cut materials using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and hand tools. Use power tools such as plasma cutters, grinders, drills, and saws to prepare materials for welding and fabrication processes. Read and interpret welding symbols, technical specifications, and fabrication shop drawings to ensure precise assembly. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols, including proper handling of gas metal arc welding (GMAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), and TIG welding equipment. Conduct quality inspections of welds using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to ensure compliance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving mechanical fabrication, machining, plasma cutting, and assembly of metal structures. Requirements Proven experience working on construction sites or in fabrication shops with a strong understanding of metal materials and welding techniques. Proficiency in MIG (GMAW), TIG (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding), and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), with knowledge of AWS standards. Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and interpret mechanical blueprints accurately. Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, shop math, and basic math skills for precise measurements. Experience working with sheet metal fabrication, structural steel, and mechanical fabrication processes. Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding operations and construction environments; ability to adhere strictly to safety guidelines. Mechanical knowledge combined with experience using hand tools, power tools, machining equipment, plasma cutters, and measuring devices. Strong communication skills for collaborating effectively within a team environment. Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and apply shop math in daily tasks.
