Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Structural Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for welding and assembling structural metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of large-scale construction projects, ensuring all welds meet industry and company quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that demand technical proficiency, mechanical knowledge, and a keen eye for detail. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine welding requirements and procedures. Perform welding using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and gas metal arc welding, ensuring compliance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes. Set up and operate power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal and structural components. Measure materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication. Use rigging, pipe threading tools, and forklifts safely during material handling and assembly processes. Adhere strictly to safety protocols on construction sites or in fabrication shops while working with metal materials, ductwork, or piping systems. Collaborate with team members to ensure quality control during welding operations and fabrication processes. Skills Extensive construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols. Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and mechanical blueprint interpretation. Skilled in various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding; familiar with AWS standards. Ability to operate measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers accurately for quality assurance. Mechanical knowledge of fabrication processes involving sheet metal fabrication, structural steel assembly, ductwork installation, and pipe threading. Experience with rigging, machining, soldering, plasma cutting, press brake operation, and schematics reading. Familiarity with construction equipment such as forklifts and power tools; capable of handling metal materials safely in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to metal fabrication and welding practices.
