Work Location:

Combination of customer properties, jobsites, and remote office work The Position Renew Landscaping is looking for an experienced Landscape & Hardscape Designer / Sales / Project Manager to help manage the customer experience from the initial lead through completion of the project. This is much more than a traditional landscape design position. You will help pursue new opportunities, meet with homeowners, develop project ideas, create designs, write estimates, sell projects, communicate with customers, and stay involved throughout installation to make sure the finished project meets the customer's expectations and Renew Landscaping's quality standards. We are looking for someone who understands both the creative and construction sides of landscaping. The ideal candidate can walk a property with a homeowner, understand what they are trying to accomplish, develop a practical design, accurately estimate what it will take to build, confidently present the project, and then help make sure it is executed correctly. This position offers significant independence and earning potential for someone who can successfully develop relationships, sell profitable projects, and manage a high-quality customer experience. What You'll Be Responsible For Sales & Lead Development Respond to and pursue incoming landscape and hardscape leads. Follow up consistently with prospective customers. Perform additional prospecting and help develop new customer relationships and project opportunities. Meet with homeowners at their properties to discuss their needs, ideas, style, priorities, and budget. Build trust with customers and help guide them toward practical solutions for their property. Maintain an organized pipeline of leads, estimates, follow-ups, and active projects. Follow up on outstanding proposals and help convert qualified opportunities into scheduled projects. Develop long-term relationships that lead to referrals and repeat customers. Landscape & Hardscape Design Evaluate properties and identify opportunities involving layout, grading, drainage, hardscaping, plantings, and overall landscape improvements. Take accurate measurements, elevations, photos, and site notes. Develop attractive, practical, and buildable landscape designs.

Design projects involving:

Paver patios Retaining walls Walkways and driveways Outdoor living areas Natural stone Steps and stair systems Drainage improvements Grading Landscape beds Trees, shrubs, and perennial plantings Decorative rock and mulch Sod and lawn restoration Help customers select pavers, retaining wall products, natural stone, colors, plant material, rock, mulch, edging, and other finishes. Revise designs when necessary while maintaining project feasibility and profitability. Estimating & Proposals Develop detailed project scopes and professional customer estimates. Calculate measurements, material quantities, labor requirements, equipment needs, disposal, delivery, and other project costs. Understand the construction process well enough to accurately estimate how projects will be built. Maintain appropriate project margins while still presenting competitive and valuable solutions to customers. Identify potential site challenges or additional costs before the project is sold. Clearly communicate what is and is not included in each proposal. Handle revisions, upgrades, and change requests professionally. Sales Present project ideas and proposals confidently without using high-pressure sales tactics. Educate customers on materials, construction methods, and the value of properly built landscape projects. Help customers make decisions and move projects from the design stage into signed contracts. Maintain strong follow-up throughout the decision-making process. Protect company profitability while providing customers with a high-quality solution. Project Management & Customer Experience Your involvement would not end when the project is sold. Once a project moves into production, you will work closely with our installation team to make sure the original vision is carried through correctly.

Responsibilities include:

Communicate project scope, plans, materials, selections, and customer expectations to the production team. Participate in pre-construction meetings or site walkthroughs when needed. Maintain regular communication with customers during installation. Visit active jobsites to review progress and workmanship. Work closely with Foremen and installation crews to answer questions and resolve design or scope issues. Help ensure the project remains consistent with the sold scope and approved design. Monitor customer expectations and address concerns before they become larger problems. Identify potential change orders and communicate them before additional work is completed. Help monitor project budgets, material usage, and overall job performance. Ensure Renew Landscaping's quality standards are being maintained. Participate in final walkthroughs and help ensure punch-list items are completed. Maintain the relationship with the customer through final completion. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who combines design ability, construction knowledge, communication skills, and sales ability.

The ideal candidate will have:

Professional experience in landscaping, hardscaping, landscape design, estimating, sales, or project management. A strong understanding of how landscape and hardscape projects are actually constructed. Knowledge of retaining walls, paver systems, natural stone, grading, drainage, planting, and landscape construction. Strong ability to visualize outdoor spaces and develop attractive designs. Experience accurately measuring properties and calculating material quantities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Confidence meeting directly with homeowners. The ability to listen to a customer and turn their ideas into a realistic project. Strong organization and follow-through. Ability to manage multiple leads and projects simultaneously. Good understanding of project budgets and profitability. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions. Strong attention to detail. Professional appearance and communication. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Experience with landscape design, CAD, 3D design, estimating, CRM, or project management software is highly preferred. The Person Who Will Do Well Here You may be a great fit if you are someone who can walk into a backyard and immediately begin seeing the possibilities. You understand that a beautiful design also has to be buildable, drain properly, stay within budget, and make sense for the customer. You enjoy talking with homeowners and helping them develop their ideas. You are comfortable asking for the sale and following up, but you understand that strong sales come from knowledge, communication, trust, and delivering value rather than pressure. You also want to see the project through. You care whether the crew understands the design, whether the finished product matches what was promised, and whether the customer is happy when the project is complete. We are looking for someone who wants ownership over their projects, not someone who simply creates a drawing and hands it off.
