POSITION OVERVIEW
The Design Build Project Manager is responsible for managing landscape construction projects from the initial customer consultation through final project completion. This position combines sales, estimating, project planning, customer communication, and project management. The individual is responsible for accurately selling and estimating projects, preparing them for production, coordinating the resources necessary to complete the work, monitoring project performance, and maintaining the customer relationship throughout the entire process. The goal of this position is to provide customers with one consistent point of contact while ensuring projects are properly scoped, profitable, organized, and completed to Stoney Creek Landscaping's standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales & Estimating
  • Meet with prospective customers to understand their goals, project needs, and budget.
  • Develop solutions, prepare accurate estimates and scopes of work, present proposals, and close sales.
  • Accurately estimate labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project costs.
  • Maintain an organized sales pipeline, consistently follow up with opportunities, and meet established sales and gross-profit goals.
  • Accurately create estimates and jobs within company software. Pre-Construction & Project Planning
  • Finalize project scope, plans, selections, budgets, labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor requirements before production.
  • Coordinate purchase orders, materials, permitting, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project resources.
  • Conduct pre-construction meetings and site walkthroughs as needed.
  • Ensure Crew Leaders and the production team have complete and accurate information before work begins. Project Management
  • Manage your book of business from initial sale through project completion.
  • Coordinate project scheduling and resources with Operations and field leadership.
  • Conduct regular job-site visits to monitor progress, quality, efficiency, scope, and customer expectations.
  • Monitor labor, project costs, budgets, and profitability against estimates throughout construction.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Maintain necessary project documentation and ensure completed work meets the agreed-upon scope and company quality standards. Customer Management
  • Serve as the customer's primary point of contact from the initial sales meeting through project completion.
  • Proactively communicate project schedules, progress, changes, and expectations.
  • Address customer questions and concerns and manage change orders and additional work.
  • Conduct final walkthroughs, resolve outstanding items, and build relationships that encourage repeat business and referrals. Field & Production Support
  • Work closely with Crew Leaders to communicate project scope, expectations, production goals, and potential challenges.
  • Help identify and resolve jobsite issues affecting quality, efficiency, budget, schedule, or customer expectations.
  • Work alongside crews when needed to solve problems and support efficient project completion.
  • Coordinate staffing, equipment, scheduling, and other production needs with Operations.
  • Support Crew Leaders while allowing them to maintain ownership of their crews and daily field execution.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of landscape construction, hardscape, construction sales, estimating, or related experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of landscape construction and hardscape installation.
  • Knowledge of patios, retaining walls, grading, drainage, excavation, planting, and outdoor living construction.
  • Experience estimating labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Strong sales and customer relationship skills.
  • Experience managing construction projects from planning through completion.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple customers and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read landscape plans and construction drawings.
  • Comfortable managing project budgets and profitability.
  • Valid driver's license.

$50,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
