Job Description

Purpose and Scope:
Waynesboro Landscape & Garden Center is an award-winning Landscape Architecture and Construction Company for residential, commercial, and municipal landscaping. Assisting the installation, the Landscape Design Associate is responsible for acting as a liaison between Landscape Designers and Installation Crews, occasionally meeting with prospective clients and generating sales for smaller jobs, aiding in delivery of materials to job sites, and assisting with installation at times. The Landscape Design Associate should be able to communicate effectively via phone and email, ensuring the operations arm and clients are always clear and in the know. This role will report directly to the Landscape General Manager and assist on various other tasks throughout the year.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Navigate all aspects of the sales process Assist Designers with all aspects of the installation Provide accurate information to customers via phone call and email Ability to answer questions and requests accurately and in a timely manner Answer and direct phone calls Assist with multiple tasks and projects at once Typically visit multiple job sites in a day Deliver sound solutions to clients across a wide range of potential issues Use design software when needed Take measurements, photos, and site analysis on smaller projects Take direction and interpret client's needs Be available via phone or in person for on site meetings with clients and project managers Procure materials as necessary Other company related duties as requested and assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications:
High School Diploma (required); Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Design (preferred) Administrative experience Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask Excellent organization and planning skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Attention to detail General Knowledge of Plants, Drainage Solution and Hardscaping General Knowledge of Best Horticulture Practices M-F work week with some Saturdays required Typically forty five hours per work week with some overtime, based on customer needs.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP
The Landscape Design/Sales role will report to the Landscape General Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education and Training :
High School Diploma (required); Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Design (preferred)
Technical Requirements:
Ability to obtain the Pesticide Applicator's Certification within six months of employment.
Experience:
Two years working with various aspects of landscape design for residential and commercial spaces (Preferred)
Additional Requirements :
Valid Virginia driver's license required along with an acceptable driving record as defined by our insurer, must have/pass acceptable criminal background check.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform basic physical tasks normal to the landscaping industry, including but not limited to kneeling for extended periods, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, bending, crawling, lifting at least 50 lbs. (and up to 100 lbs. on occasion) and be able to work with arms above head level at times; must be able to work in hot and cold temperatures and in adverse weather and job site conditions. Must be able to perform basic tasks consistent with an office environment including but not limited to sitting at a desk for long periods of time, bending, crouching or kneeling to access files from ground level to 4.5 feet above the ground, pushing/pulling of file drawers, reaching in all directions and working at a computer and/or telephone for prolonged periods of time. The following capabilities are required but not limited to: able to see for purposes of reading instructions, labels and other printed matter; ability to operate computer hardware and peripheral devices; able to hear and understand speech at normal levels in person and/or on the telephone; able to communicate verbally so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation in person and/or on the telephone.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
