We are looking for someone who can help with stump grinding, heavy equipment operation, wood splitting, shop work, equipment maintenance, snow removal, and general tree-care work. We always have a need for help with stump grinding, but this position will also help wherever the company needs an extra set of capable hands. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment and working with their hands. Schedule Friday availability is especially important to us! Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM business hours We are looking for someone who can work Fridays consistently Additional days may be available depending on workload, such as Thursday + Friday Part-time hours will vary depending on the season and our workload The schedule does not have to be the same every day each week We can work around another job or other commitments Additional hours may be available during busy periods, snow events and larger projects What You'll Do Operate stump grinders safely and efficiently Operate wood chippers, mini loaders and other heavy equipment Operate plow trucks and salt trucks during winter snow events Grind stumps and surface roots Haul and remove stump grindings Spread and distribute topsoil Perform soil finishing and lawn regrading after stump grinding Restore lawns and work areas after tree work Set up and remove plywood pathways to protect lawns and property Load, unload and move equipment and materials Split and process firewood Bend, lift and move logs, tree branches and other heavy materials Help maintain and organize the shop Assist with mechanical work and equipment maintenance Drop off and pick up trucks and equipment for service or maintenance Drive and deliver company vehicles and equipment when needed Step in and assist the tree crew when additional help is needed Help with carpentry and building projects Help wherever needed to keep the company moving What We're Looking For Reliable and dependable Hardworking and willing to jump in wherever needed Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons Able to safely operate equipment and machinery Able to work independently and as part of a crew Valid driver's license and reliable transportation - - must have clean driving record Good communication skills Takes pride in doing clean, quality work Careful around customer property and landscaping Willing to learn new equipment and tasks Friday availability is strongly preferred Drug and alcohol free workplace

Physical Requirements:

This is a very physical, hands-on outdoor job.

The position regularly involves:

Lifting and carrying heavy equipment and materials Bending, lifting and moving logs, tree branches and other heavy materials Moving plywood sheets weighing up to approximately 80 pounds each Setting up plywood pathways around job sites, sometimes the day before tree work begins Loading and unloading equipment and materials Climbing in and out of trucks and heavy equipment Operating machinery throughout the workday Splitting and moving firewood Shoveling and snow removal Working on your feet for extended periods Working in varying weather conditions Applicants must be able to safely perform the essential physical duties of the position and safely lift and move heavy materials independently. Bonus Skills / Preferred Experience - Experience in any of the following is a major plus: Stump grinder operation Wood chipper operation Mini loader/heavy equipment operation Plow truck operation Salt truck operation Soil finishing and lawn regrading Topsoil installation and lawn restoration Tree climbing Aerial lift operation Tree care or landscaping Mechanical skills and equipment maintenance Small engine, truck or hydraulic equipment experience Carpentry or construction skills Snow removal We don't expect one person to have experience with everything on this list. The more you can do, the more opportunities there will be to help and pick up additional hours.
