Akima Facilities Operations is looking for a Blaster to work in Pennsylvania. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today! Responsibilities Removes rust, scale, paint, corrosion, and other foreign materials from metal and non-metal surfaces. Operates abrasive blasting equipment, including automatic blasting bays, nozzle blasting chambers, and blasting booths. Prepares items for blasting by masking, covering, and protecting areas as required. Sorts and organizes work based on the type, size, and condition of items. Sets up blasting equipment and selects the appropriate abrasive material for each job. Adjusts blast nozzle angles, distances, and air pressure to achieve proper surface cleaning. Positions and manipulates items to ensure thorough and effective blasting. Maintains proper levels of blasting materials and monitors equipment during operation. Follows all required safety procedures and uses appropriate protective equipment. Performs minor maintenance and routine upkeep on blasting equipment. Must obtain and maintain a forklift license upon request. Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent 1-3 years of experience in the field.
