Job Summary Join our dynamic underground coal mining team as an Underground Coal Miner! In this vital role, you will operate and maintain underground mining equipment, execute drilling and extraction processes, and ensure safety compliance throughout all operations. Your expertise will contribute to efficient resource extraction while adhering to strict safety standards. Duties Operate underground mining equipment such as continuous miners, longwall shearers, and shuttle cars to facilitate coal extraction Conduct drilling operations using machine drilling and horizontal drilling techniques to prepare for blasting and excavation Perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and material transport within the mine using appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Maintain and troubleshoot underground equipment, including welding repairs and routine inspections to ensure optimal performance Follow all safety regulations and protocols, including OSHA standards, to promote a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues Assist with surface mining equipment operation when required, supporting the transition between underground and surface activities Support water truck, tanker, forklift, and other industrial equipment operations for logistical needs within the mine site Skills Proven experience operating underground mining equipment with a strong understanding of underground coal mine procedures Mechanical knowledge related to industrial equipment maintenance, welding, and troubleshooting Familiarity with safety standards in production environments, including OSHA regulations and PPE requirements Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently in outdoor mining conditions Experience with drilling machines, machine drilling, horizontal drilling, and water trucks or tankers used in mining operations Knowledge of surface mining equipment operation such as Caterpillar machinery and construction site experience is a plus Strong adherence to safety protocol adherence, safety regulations, and industrial safety practices in high-risk environments Join us in this energetic role where your skills will directly impact the success of our mining operations!
