Job Description

Dole Service Inc. is a family-run oil heating company in Huntington, NY. We service and install oil burners, boilers, warm-air furnaces, oil tanks, and water heaters for homeowners on the North Shore of Long Island, from Glen Cove to Smithtown. We hold a 4.9 star rating on Google across more than 350 reviews, family owned and operated. We are hiring one experienced service technician. This is a four-person shop, so you will know everyone you work with and deal with the owner directly. No on-call rotation This is a full-time, weekday position. There is no on-call rotation. For technicians who want extra income, after-hours and weekend coverage is available. On-call bonus for the week, plus time and a half on each callout, with a two-hour minimum per callout. Pay and benefits $45.00 to $60.00 per hour, depending on experience. Company truck, kept at the shop. Health insurance through the company plan, with your own premium paid in full by the company. Family coverage is available at a shared cost. Five paid sick days, ten paid vacation days, and six paid holidays per year. Vacation increases to fifteen days after five years. Sick time is separate from vacation, so being out ill does not cost you vacation days.
Year-round work:
no-heat calls through the winter, then tune-ups, boiler replacements, and tank jobs through the summer. Local routes on the North Shore. Responsibilities Service, repair, and tune residential oil burners, boilers, and warm-air furnaces Set up combustion with instruments and record the readings on every ticket Troubleshoot primary controls, aquastats, zone valves, circulators, and low voltage wiring Keep your truck stocked and organized Requirements Ten years of experience on oil-fired equipment, or five years running your own truck Able to handle a no-heat call on your own from diagnosis to repair. Sets up combustion with instruments. Clean New York driver's license Your own hand tools Able to lift 75 pounds and work in basements, crawlspaces, and attics Courteous and professional in customers' homes. Most of our business comes from referrals. Nice to have NORA certification or manufacturer training Energy Kinetics System 2000 experience Oil tank installation and removal experience Experience training other technicians How to apply Send a resume, or just write a few lines about the work you have been doing and the equipment you know.
