JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for operating equipment in the maintenance of city streets and related infrastructure.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs pre- and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections. Subject to call back 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Assist with installing and maintaining work zone traffic control devices, and obtains GDOT certified flagger qualification. Position involves operating pickup trucks and various small equipment including but not limited to the following: zero turn mower, pavement roller, hay blower, weed eaters, chain saws and edgers, tractors, and bushhogs Significant use of hand tools, such as pavement saw, shovel, rakes and asphalt lutes Assist with projects, including building demolitions, site clean ups, storm drainage maintenance, traffic sign installations and general construction. Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required. No related experience required. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
