Responsibilities Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately cut, assemble, and weld crane components. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to ensure precise dimensions in sheet metal and metal fabrication tasks. Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, machining equipment, following safety protocols to fabricate and assemble crane parts. Measure, cut, and assemble structural steel and sheet metal components according to AWS standards and engineering specifications. Interpret shop math and basic math principles to calculate dimensions, material quantities, and fabrication requirements accurately. Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety guidelines at all times during fabrication shop activities. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot fabrication issues, improve processes, and ensure timely project completion.

Qualifications Proven construction site experience or metal fabrication background with a focus on overhead cranes or similar heavy-duty equipment. Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting technical drawings for fabrication purposes. Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and shop math for precise measurements. Experience with plasma cutting, machining processes, assembly techniques, and use of power tools in a fabrication setting. Mechanical knowledge related to crane components, structural steel framing, sheet metal fabrication, and safety standards aligned with AWS guidelines. Ability to work efficiently on construction sites or in a fabrication shop environment while maintaining strict safety protocol adherence.
