This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that plays a crucial role in maintaining and constructing our city's potable water distribution system.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform skilled maintenance and construction work on the city's potable water distribution system Operate a wide range of equipment including dump trucks, truck/trailer combinations, bobcats, loaders, forklifts, street sweepers, high velocity cleaners, hydro cleaners, flusher trucks, pavement breakers, asphalt spreaders, crack sealers, backhoes, rollers, and crane trucks Use power and hand tools such as compressors, generators, jackhammers, pressure cleaners, chippers, hydraulic pumps and jacks, and portable pumps Repair and calibrate specialized equipment like flow monitoring gages, rain gages, and water meters
Qualifications:
High school degree or G.E.D. Minimum two years of experience in public works maintenance, construction or repair in water distribution Oregon Water Distribution I certification Valid Oregon Class A driver's license with air brake and tanker endorsement
Additional Requirements:
Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test Ability to obtain and maintain certifications in Forklift operation, flagger duties, first aid/CPR, NIMS ICS 100, 200 and 700, excavation safety, and confined space Oregon Public Pesticide Applicator License or Oregon backflow tester license preferred, City will pay for obtaining license.
