Overview The Heavy Equipment Operator drives, maneuvers, and controls machinery like bulldozers, excavators, and loaders to move earth, materials, and debris on construction sites. They are also responsible for carrying and loading excavation materials for projects and assisting with various labor related tasks including, but not limited to, performing all duties related to sitework projects, landscape/hardscape, general construction, etc. Info, Pay, and Benefits $30-40/hr Prevailing Wage available often! Ability to lift up to 80 lbs, climb onto equipment, and work in varied weather conditions. Strong understanding of safety protocols, spatial awareness, and basic mechanics. High school diploma or equivalent Duties Maneuvering heavy motorized equipment to ensure the accurate removal and placement of materials. Loading and offloading rocks, debris, and other materials from heavy equipment. Always observing stipulated safety codes. Communicating with coworkers to explain project specifications, as needed. Reporting injuries and other accidents to the line manager. Advising the foreman/shop foreman of requisite upgrades, repairs, and replacements. Aiding coworkers to ensure that the site is clean and organized at the end of each shift. Providing suggestions to refine workflow and boost efficiency. Check daily assignments and coordinate with the supervisor. Assists with excavation needs including the digging of holes and trenches. Clean up job sites. Clean, lubricate and perform other minor maintenance work Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor to facilitate prompt correction or reporting Assists with loading and unloading equipment and materials. Assist with lifting heavy materials such as large bags of concrete. Operate various excavation equipment including mini excavators, backhoes, drilling/boring machines, jackhammers, and concrete saws. Snow removal. Perform other duties as assigned.
Pay:
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour
