Construction, Inc. is looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is safety-conscious, and works effectively as part of a construction team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating heavy equipment and be comfortable working in a commercial / industrial construction environment. What You'll Do Safely operate a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, skid steers, loaders, dozers, backhoes, and other equipment as assigned Perform excavation, grading, loading, backfilling, trenching, and material handling activities Read and follow site plans, drawings, grades, elevations, and project specifications Perform accurate grading and site preparation using proper equipment and layout tools Operate equipment efficiently while maintaining proper control and awareness of surrounding workers, structures, utilities, and other equipment Perform daily equipment inspections and identify mechanical or safety issues before operating equipment Communicate equipment issues, site conditions, or other concerns promptly to the supervisor Work with laborers, carpenters, foremen, and other trades to coordinate jobsite activities Maintain safe working distances and follow proper procedures when working around underground utilities, structures, and other hazards Assist with general construction and site work as needed when equipment operation is not required Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite, including daily cleanup Protect finished work, existing structures, and materials from damage during equipment operation Work efficiently to help keep projects on schedule and within budget Follow all OSHA safety guidelines and jobsite safety procedures What We're Looking For Previous experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator in commercial, industrial, or site construction Comprehensive knowledge of heavy equipment operation, construction methods, and jobsite safety Proficiency operating a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, skid steers, loaders, dozers, backhoes, or similar equipment Ability to read and understand site plans, drawings, grades, elevations, and measurements Ability to perform accurate excavation, grading, backfilling, and site preparation Strong awareness of surroundings and ability to safely operate equipment around people, structures, utilities, and other equipment Ability to perform routine equipment inspections and identify potential mechanical or safety issues Strong physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Effective communication skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment Reliable, consistent, and safety-focused work habits Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening What We Offer Competitive pay Health insurance Dental insurance Company-paid life insurance Long-term disability coverage 401(k) with company match Paid vacation and holidays Join Our Team At Miller Bros.
