Foreman or Superintendent Job Summary:
The Loader Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of front-end loaders and related heavy equipment to move, load, and transport materials such as dirt, gravel, sand, stone, and asphalt. This role supports daily production operations by maintaining consistent material flow, ensuring safety compliance, and assisting with general site duties as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate a front-end loader to move and load materials into trucks, hoppers, or bins. Maintain proper stockpile management and organize materials on site. Inspect and perform basic maintenance on equipment daily (fueling, greasing, cleaning, etc.). Follow all safety guidelines and site procedures, including PPE requirements. Communicate effectively with truck drivers, crew members, and supervisors. Monitor material quality and report contamination or mix issues. Assist in keeping the jobsite or plant area clean and organized. Perform other duties as assigned to support production and crew efficiency.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Experience:
Minimum 1-2 years operating heavy equipment (front-end loader preferred).
License/Certification:
Valid driver's license required; CDL and equipment operator certification preferred.
Skills:
Strong understanding of equipment operation and material handling. Ability to read and follow instructions, work orders, and safety protocols. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for long periods and operate controls with precision. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in all weather conditions. Tolerance for dusty, noisy, and fast-paced environments.
Work Environment:
Outdoor job sites, asphalt plants, or quarries. Exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, and heavy equipment traffic. May require overtime, weekends, or night shifts depending on project schedules.
