Job Description

Equipment Operator - Street Maintenance 4200 Hollis Street, Haltom City, TX 76111 Full-time Full-time This position works in the Street Department operating equipment used in Street construction and repair. ssists with maintenance activities for area of assignment; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Examples of Duties:
Operates various types of heavy equipment including but not limited to backhoes, dump trucks, water trucks, loaders, rollers, street sweepers, and forklifts. Performs preventive maintenance to assigned equipment and assists in ensuring equipment is maintained in safe working condition. Repairs and replaces City streets; removes concrete and lays asphalt; backfills curbs. Installs traffic control devices and road/parking lot markings. Sweeps streets; removes debris from roadways; cleans gutters; applies herbicides. Identifies and documents street pot holes and/or trees obstructing roadways. Maintains, repairs, installs pumps, valve boxes, and manholes. Replaces meter boxes and lids. Assists in cleaning and maintaining departmental facilities as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Typical Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent One year equipment operation experience; OR an equivalent combination or education and experience. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Class A Texas Driver's License within one year of hire. Incentive pay provided to candidates with a Class A Commercial Driver's License.
