Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Description

Job Summary The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy machinery used in construction and site development projects. This role supports project operations by ensuring equipment is operated in compliance with company policies, safety standards, and project requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Safely operate heavy equipment, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and backhoes
  • Perform routine pre-operation and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment is in proper working condition
  • Assist with material handling, grading, trenching, and other earthmoving activities as required by the project
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and site-specific guidelines Schedule Expectations Physical Demands
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and site personnel to support project efficiency
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Team Lead or Project Manager Schedule Expectations
  • Willingness and ability to work out of town for extended periods of time as required by project needs
  • Overtime, including evenings and weekends, should be expected. Physical Demands
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in an outdoor construction environment
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind
  • Sufficient vision, hearing, and coordination to safely perform job duties and respond to job site hazards Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience operating heavy equipment
Pay:
$18.00 - $28.00 per hour
