4-10's, day shift with some holiday Position Purpose The Central Valley Water Reclamation facility (CVWRF) is searching for a Truck Driver/Heavy Equipment Operator. 4-Day work week, home every night, 100% employer paid medical, dental, life insurance and retirement program. Under the direction of the Biosolids Supervisor, the Truck Driver/Heavy Equipment Operator will drive Semi tractor trailer and roll off container trucks to deliver biosolids to land application sites and landfill within 100 miles of the plant site. Operates heavy-duty industrial compost equipment such as loaders, screens, grinding equipment, backhoes, and truck-mounted equipment.

Minimum 3 years of Class A CDL driving experience. Preference may be given to those with more experience. Must have and maintain a valid Utah CDL Class A Driver's License, with a tanker and hazmat endorsement. Must pass a motor vehicle record check.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

Follow all CVWRF safety requirements and appropriate safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods. Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy. Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order. Crank trailer landing gear up or down to safely secure vehicles. Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required. Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles. Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid, performing minor repairs, or washing trucks. Couple or uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions, connecting, or disconnecting air, hydraulic or electrical lines, or manipulating fifth-wheel locks. Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources and verify instructions and routes. Drive trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver materials. Check conditions of trailers after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage. Operate handheld radios and phones to exchange necessary information with the Biosolids Supervisor or other drivers. Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, navigation equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions. Secure cargo for transport using ropes, blocks, chains, binders, or covers and remove any debris from loaded trailers. Install or remove special equipment, such as tire chains, snowplows, salters, and loader buckets. Follow appropriate standard operating procedures as guidelines for operating and maintaining vehicles. Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment. Move and position raw materials and finished components using material moving equipment. Follow all company policies, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, and Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulations to maintain compliance with applicable laws and maintain a safe working environment. Complete maintenance records, document all maintenance performed, and maintain operating logbooks and databases as required. Attend meetings as required. Promote and implement Arbinger principles. Perform other duties as required by the Biosolids Supervisor.

The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places, confined spaces, and may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals or disease-causing organisms all of which require knowledge of safety requirements and strict use of proper personal protective equipment. Work is sometimes performed in noisy environments which require hearing protection. May need to be clean shaven and able to don a SCBA.
