Job Description

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Must be 18 years in age or older
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and/or criminal background check
  • Compliance with PPE requirements is essential
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Knowledge of general maintenance skills and tools
  • Ability to be self-sufficient and perform tasks and duties without immediate supervision
  • Ability to read and comprehend manuals, instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions
  • Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting
  • Ability to utilize simple computer systems, tablet/phone apps and/or two-way radios

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job Responsibilities
  • This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of a loader
  • Various other types of construction equipment may also be operated, including but not limited to Loaders, skid steers, Water Trucks, sweeper, etc
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently
  • Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor
  • Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards
  • Knowledge of aggregate sizes and classifications
  • Report to the work dressed appropriately and ready to begin work at the designated start time
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and by OSHA and/or MSHA
  • Willingness to work independently or within a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required
  • Must be willing to work weekends when necessary
  • Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated production areas

  • Frequent sitting and operating heavy equipment/loader
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to manipulate or feel; reach with hands and arms; twist at the waist, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear
  • Employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions
  • The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals; The risk of electrical shock or burn and working at heights
