General Construction (Residential) Job Overview JJL Design & Build LLC is looking for a detail-oriented and highly skilled Lead Painter to take ownership of residential painting projects and lead a crew from prep to final coat. This role requires hands-on expertise with painting techniques and equipment, as well as leadership capabilities to train, manage, and support your team. The ideal candidate is methodical, organized, and passionate about delivering clean, quality finishes. Learn more at www.buildwithjjl.com Key Responsibilities Lead residential and light commercial painting projects, ensuring high-quality results Direct and train painting crew on prep, application, and finishing techniques Perform surface prep using spackling, bondo, painters putty, and caulk Mask, tape, sand, and clean surfaces to prepare for painting Apply paint using various methods including brush, roller, airless and air-assisted sprayers Choose correct products, materials, and spray tips for each application Maintain and clean painting equipment, including sprayers, pumps, and nozzles Ensure jobsite cleanliness, safety, and proper protection of non-painted surfaces Communicate effectively with staff, subcontractors, and clients regarding job progress Maintain quality control and problem-solve issues on-site Qualifications Minimum 7 years of experience in residential painting Deep knowledge of paint products, prep materials, and spray equipment Ability to lead and manage a painting crew effectively Detail-oriented with a strong sense of cleanliness and finish quality Strong communication and leadership skills Able to troubleshoot and maintain airless and air-assisted spray systems High school diploma or GED required Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Benefits Year-End Bonus Safety Equipment Provided Uniforms Provided Company Events and Team Building Onsite Training and Mentorship Employee Rewards & Prizes Schedule Monday - Thursday 10-hour shifts typical Full-time Location Onsite Primary job locations are local Occasional travel required for projects; per diem provided Equal Employment Opportunity Statement We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
