Technician:
At Cedarbrook Senior Living, we work hard every day to find out what "Celebrating Life Every Day!" means to our residents and their families, then we help them achieve these goals. We are seeking a dynamic Painter/Maintenance Technician for our community.
Responsibilities:
Communicate with supervisor to determine painting requirements and assist with making decisions for projects. Assemble scaffolding as required. Preserves trim, flooring, furniture and other surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths and other protective coverings to keep them free of paint. Assembles ventilators and other safety equipment to prevent unhealthy fumes. Prepares surfaces for painting by cleaning, filling holes and cracks with putty, and sanding until smooth. Applies primer and other sealants to paint surfaces to ensure paint remains in place. Mix and match paint, stain and other finishes to job specifications. Applies paint, stain and other finishes to paint surfaces using paintbrushes, rollers or sprayers. Maintains an inventory of paint supplies and notifying supervisor if additional supplies are needed. Removing old finish using scrapers, chemical compounds, etc. Estimating time and material costs on painting projects. Cleaning machines, equipment and work areas using water, solvents and other cleaning aids. Reviews, implements, and completes work orders and assignments in a timely manner. Removes and reinstalling fixtures (i.e. doorknobs, electric switch covers) as needed. Performs routine maintenance duties to complete all service requests for repair and maintenance of all grounds, buildings, apartment homes, and equipment in a timely manner. Assists with preventative maintenance program. Advises supervisor regarding the condition of equipment and furnishings of the community. Assists with Fire Safety and Disaster Preparedness Evacuation procedures. Assists with Housekeeping services.:
Educational/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 3 years prior experience with painting and working with painting tools and materials. Good color vision and aesthetic instincts. Attention to detail required. Must have basic technical knowledge and mechanical ability to perform routine maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical equipment and possess a basic knowledge of construction principles. Time management skills to ensure tasks are completed on schedule.
