Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Residential Fire Sprinkler Fitter to join our construction and safety installation team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire sprinkler systems in residential buildings, ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, mechanical knowledge, and experience interpreting construction plans and schematics. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to community safety through precise installation and adherence to industry standards. Duties Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately install fire sprinkler systems in residential settings. Fabricate, assemble, and modify piping components using welding techniques such as MIG, FCAW, Stick, TIG, and Soldering to meet project specifications. Install pipe systems utilizing pipe threading, pipe bending, and fitting techniques while ensuring proper alignment and secure connections. Use hand tools and power tools safely to cut, weld, solder, and assemble piping systems according to NFPA standards and local building codes. Perform routine maintenance on installed sprinkler systems, including testing for leaks, adjusting components, and replacing defective parts. Adhere strictly to safety regulations and protocols on construction sites to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other tradespeople to coordinate installation schedules and resolve technical issues efficiently. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including measurements, materials used, and compliance with ASME codes & standards. Assist in rigging and lifting heavy components safely during installation processes. Ensure all work complies with relevant safety protocols related to pipefitting, welding, HVAC systems, and fire safety regulations. Experience Proven experience as a fire sprinkler fitter or pipefitter within residential construction projects. Proficiency in MIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), Stick welding, TIG welding, soldering, and pipe welding techniques. Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, construction plans, and technical drawings accurately. Mechanical knowledge of plumbing systems, HVAC components, pipeline fabrication, and assembly processes. Skilled in using hand tools such as calipers for precise measurements; power tools for cutting and assembly; tube bending equipment; pipe threading tools; rigging gear; and fabrication machinery. Familiarity with NFPA standards related to fire sprinkler systems as well as ASME codes & standards for piping fabrication. Experience interpreting technical drawings related to plumbing or fire suppression systems on construction sites. Knowledge of safety regulations concerning welding operations, power tool usage, pipe installation procedures, and site safety protocols. Ability to perform basic math calculations necessary for measurements and material estimations. Construction site experience demonstrating the ability to work efficiently within a team environment while maintaining high safety standards.
