Job Description

Pipefitter - Job Duties and Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and isometric drawings, and translate them into fabricated and installed piping systems. Take accurate measurements and mark layouts based on drawings and planned piping installations. Determine appropriate pipe types, sizes, and related materials, including supports, hangers, and equipment, per job specifications. Review job sites to identify obstacles or potential conflicts prior to installation. Plan installation sequences to prevent interference with obstructions or other trades. Cut pipe using hand tools and power equipment such as hacksaws, pipe cutters, torches, and pipe-cutting machines. Thread pipe using manual or powered threading equipment. Perform welding on piping systems using stick, MIG, or TIG processes. Bend pipe manually or with pipe-bending tools and machinery. Install pipe hangers, brackets, and supports on walls, ceilings, and structures. Assemble and install metal and non-metal piping and fittings using threaded, soldered, brazed, fused, cemented, or caulked joints. Secure piping to structures using clamps, brackets, and hangers with hand and power tools. Pressure-test piping systems and inspect gauges to identify leaks or defects. Weld pipe supports to structural steel when required. Load, move, and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies as needed. Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment. Follow all safety standards, project requirements, and company policies and procedures. Provide mechanical support during troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance situations. Complete additional duties as assigned. Pipefitter - Qualifications and Skills Strong attention to detail with a consistent focus on safety Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with team members Capable of reading labels, safety notices, and technical documentation Willingness to learn and use basic computer systems for email communication, work documentation, and tracking materials or job progress Education and Experience Requirements Demonstrated experience in pipefitting with a strong understanding of applicable piping codes and industry standards
Pay:
$35.00 - $40.00 per hour
