Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Draw water from crude oil storage tanks according to established procedures and schedules.

Monitor tank inventories and report abnormal conditions, water accumulation, leaks, or equipment issues.

Inspect storage tanks, transfer lines, valves, pumps, docks, and associated equipment.

Operate valves, pumps, and related equipment during product transfers and tank movements.

Assist with vessel, barge, truck, or pipeline loading and unloading activities.

Collect tank samples for laboratory analysis and quality control purposes.

Maintain accurate records of water draws, tank levels, transfers, inspections, and operating data.

Conduct routine housekeeping activities throughout the dock and tank farm areas.

Follow all lockout/tagout, confined space, hot work, and other safety procedures.

Respond to spills, leaks, or emergency situations in accordance with company emergency response plans.

Communicate operational status and issues to supervisors, operators, and other departments.

Perform preventive maintenance tasks and report equipment deficiencies.

Ensure compliance with company policies and environmental regulations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED required. Experience in refinery, terminal, tank farm, pipeline, marine dock, or industrial operations preferred. Knowledge & Skills Ability to safely operate pumps, valves, and tank gauging equipment.

Basic understanding of crude oil handling and storage operations.

Ability to read and interpret operating procedures and safety documents.

Strong attention to detail and recordkeeping skills.

Knowledge of tank farm and dock operations.

Understanding of crude oil properties and water separation processes.

Familiarity with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Ability to identify and respond to abnormal operating conditions.

Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Basic computer and reporting skills.

Working Conditions:

Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Industrial refinery, terminal, or tank farm environment.

Exposure to petroleum products, noise, moving equipment, and outdoor conditions.

May be required to work emergency call-outs and extended hours during operational needs. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Safe execution of all water draw and dock operations.

Accurate inventory and tank level management.

Timely identification and reporting of operational issues.

Compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.

Effective support of product transfer and storage activities.
