System/Pipeline Controller

Job Description

The System Controller will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the flow of product through pipeline systems, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves real-time monitoring, responding to abnormal operating conditions and coordinating with field teams to address issues and maintain smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor Pipeline Systems:
Continuously monitor pipeline systems using SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Control Operations:
Manage and adjust flow rates, pressures, and other operational parameters to optimize pipeline performance. Respond to
Alarms:
Quickly and effectively respond to system alarms, anomalies and abnormal operating conditions coordinating with field personnel and management to resolve issues.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure all operations are conducted in compliance with safety regulations set forth by PHMSA, industry standards, and OPS company policies.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate logs and records of pipeline operations, incidents, and maintenance activities.
Communication:
Coordinate with field teams, maintenance crews, and management to provide updates on pipeline status and any operational issues.
Emergency Response:
Participate in emergency response activities, including drills and actual emergency situations, to ensure preparedness and quick resolution.
Continuous Improvement:
Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements and operational efficiencies.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree or technical certification in a related field is preferred.
Experience:
Previous experience in pipeline operations, control room operations, or a related field is highly desirable. Military and/or law enforcement experience is also a plus.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with SCADA systems, control systems, and other relevant technologies.
Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and other departments.
Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to quickly assess situations, identify problems, and implement effective solutions. Attention to
Detail:
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in monitoring, controlling and recording pipeline operations.
Work Environment:
Ability to work in a fast-paced, potentially high-pressure environment, including working 12 hour shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods while monitoring control systems. Capacity to respond quickly in emergency situations. Why Join Us? Pay:
$84,232.89 - $105,232.62 per year
