This role calls for someone who can repair damaged plaster and blend the finished work into surrounding surfaces, including decorative and aged finishes. The right candidate takes pride in careful craftsmanship and is comfortable working in occupied homes and businesses. Responsibilities Assess cracks, holes, water damage, deterioration, and other plaster defects. Repair traditional and modern plaster walls, ceilings, moldings, and decorative surfaces. Create custom color matches that blend with surrounding finishes. Replicate existing textures, patterns, sheen levels, and aging effects. Mix plaster, pigments, paints, stains, glazes, and other finishing materials. Prepare and protect floors, furnishings, and architectural details before beginning work. Complete repairs with minimal disruption and leave work areas clean and organized. Communicate repair options, timelines, and care recommendations to management. Document materials and color formulas for future touch-ups. Follow job-site safety practices. Qualifications Professional experience in plaster repair, restoration, or decorative finishing. Excellent color matching skills, including the ability to account for lighting, undertones, sheen, texture, and aged finishes. Experience with lime, gypsum, veneer, or traditional plaster systems. Knowledge of surface preparation, adhesion, curing, sanding, painting, and sealing. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work. Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism when working in occupied spaces. Ability to work independently and estimate the time needed for repairs. Ability to climb ladders, lift materials, and perform detailed overhead work. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred. Preferred Experience Experience with Venetian plaster, limewash, faux finishing, or decorative plasterwork is a plus. We especially welcome candidates who have matched faded, weathered, or discontinued finishes.
