Company Overview Viking Yacht Company is a family-owned and operated leader in the production of semi-custom, high-end fiberglass luxury and performance sport fishing yachts ranging from 37 to 92 feet. Job Summary WeThe Facilities Plumber is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plumbing and related mechanical systems throughout Viking Yacht Company facilities. This position works on domestic water, sanitary, drainage, gray water, fixtures, piping, pumps, valves, and other facility plumbing systems. The position requires an experienced plumbing professional capable of independently diagnosing problems and completing repairs safely and efficiently. Because Facilities plumbing and HVAC systems frequently overlap, this position will also work alongside HVAC personnel and assist with related piping, drainage, pumps, condensate systems, and mechanical equipment as needed. Duties & Responsibilities Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, replace, and install facility plumbing systems and components, including diagnosing leaks, blockages, pressure problems, drainage issues, and other system failures. Maintain domestic clean-water supply, distribution, sanitary sewer, wastewater, graywater, and facility drainage systems. Install, repair, troubleshoot, and replace piping, fittings, valves, faucets, fixtures, drains, traps, sinks, toilets, hose connections, floor drains, and related plumbing components. Repair and replace damaged, leaking, corroded, or failed piping and plumbing system components. Maintain and repair pumps, valves, regulators, and other equipment associated with facility water, drainage, and mechanical systems. Clear clogged drains and piping and identify underlying causes of recurring drainage problems. Perform preventative maintenance and inspections of plumbing systems to identify potential failures before they result in downtime or property damage. Respond to plumbing leaks, backups, loss of water, equipment failures, and other urgent facility maintenance issues. Read and interpret plumbing drawings, diagrams, specifications, equipment manuals, and work orders. Measure, cut, fit, join, assemble, and install piping using appropriate materials, tools, and methods. Coordinate plumbing shutdowns and repairs to minimize disruption to Production and other company operations. Assist HVAC and Facilities personnel with condensate drainage systems, piping, water lines, pumps, valves, equipment installations, repairs, replacements, removals, and preventative maintenance activities that overlap with plumbing responsibilities. Identify conditions requiring specialized HVAC, electrical, or other trade support and communicate those needs to the appropriate personnel. Maintain accurate records of completed repairs, required materials, replacement parts, purchasing needs, and outstanding maintenance requirements. Maintain tools, equipment, materials, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Follow applicable safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, company policies, and required PPE practices. Work cooperatively with HVAC technicians, electricians, maintenance personnel, Production, and other departments. Requirements for the Position Several years of hands-on plumbing experience in a commercial, industrial, institutional, manufacturing, or similar facility environment strongly preferred. Strong working knowledge of commercial and industrial plumbing systems, including domestic water, sanitary sewer, wastewater, graywater, drainage, pumps, valves, fixtures, fittings, and related components. Ability to independently diagnose plumbing problems, determine appropriate repairs, and perform plumbing installations and maintenance. Ability to measure, cut, fit, join, and install various types and sizes of piping. Ability to safely use plumbing tools, power tools, drain-cleaning equipment, and diagnostic equipment. Basic understanding of HVAC-related piping, condensate drainage systems, pumps, and mechanical equipment preferred. Ability to read or learn to read plumbing drawings, diagrams, specifications, equipment manuals, and work orders. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond appropriately to urgent maintenance situations. Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with Facilities personnel, HVAC technicians, electricians, and other trades. Dependable attendance and ability to complete assigned work with limited supervision. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior commercial, industrial, facilities, or manufacturing plumbing experience required. Completion of a plumbing trade school program, apprenticeship, vocational training, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred. HVAC, mechanical maintenance, condensate system, drainage system, pump, or mechanical piping experience is a plus. Applicable plumbing licenses or certifications are preferred where relevant to the work performed. Valid driver's license may be required based on assigned Facilities responsibilities. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, push, and pull throughout the workday. Ability to work from ladders and in ceilings, mechanical rooms, crawlspaces, confined spaces, and other difficult work locations. Ability to safely lift and carry tools, piping, materials, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to assist with heavier equipment using appropriate lifting devices or team-lifting procedures. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions. May be exposed to water, wastewater, dust, dirt, noise, chemicals, heat, cold, and other conditions associated with industrial facility maintenance. Must be able to safely use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
