Variable hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, and emergency service calls Position Summary Dos Palos Well Drilling is seeking a dependable, hardworking Well Drilling Technician to join our field team. This position supports the installation, maintenance, and repair of domestic, agricultural, commercial, and industrial water-well systems. The ideal candidate works safely, communicates well, and is comfortable performing physically demanding work outdoors. Experience with well drilling, pumps, plumbing, electrical systems, construction, agriculture, or heavy equipment is preferred, but training may be available for the right candidate. Responsibilities Assist with water-well drilling, development, and completion. Set up, operate, clean, and maintain drilling equipment and job-site tools. Install and service submersible pumps, jet pumps, pressure tanks, pipes, valves, fittings, and related components. Help pour concrete pads and connect water and electrical services. Diagnose problems involving wells, pumps, pressure systems, and water-conditioning equipment. Load, secure, transport, and unload tools, materials, and equipment. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on company vehicles and machinery. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas. Follow company procedures and all applicable safety requirements. Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and coworkers. Complete service documentation and accurately report materials used and work performed. Respond to emergency repair calls when scheduled. Qualifications Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Reliable attendance and ability to report to work on time. Effective customer-service and communication skills. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Willingness to work outdoors in heat, cold, dust, mud, and changing weather. Ability to travel to job sites throughout Dos Palos and surrounding communities. Previous experience in drilling, pump installation, plumbing, electrical work, welding, construction, agriculture, or heavy-equipment operation is preferred. A commercial driver's license is a plus but not required unless specified for the role. Physical Requirements Regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with assistance for heavier items. Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, push, and pull for extended periods. Safely work around drilling rigs, moving machinery, uneven terrain, water, and electrical equipment. Wear required personal protective equipment, including boots, gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection.
