Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Timber Framer to join our crew. We are a production-oriented timber framing shop specializing in hand-cut mortise-and-tenon joinery. Our work combines traditional craftsmanship with an efficient, team-focused approach to production. We travel to job sites throughout Maine and beyond for timber raisings and related carpentry work, including sheathing and SIP installation. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their craft, works safely and efficiently, and can contribute confidently both in the shop and on the job site. Responsibilities Cut and assemble traditional timber frame components using hand tools and power tools Operate a 16" saw and Makita chain mortiser Pre-assemble bents and wall sections for raising Work as part of a raising crew and communicate effectively with crane operators Assist with timber raisings and associated site carpentry Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and job site Travel to job sites throughout Maine and occasionally beyond Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of professional timber framing experience Highly proficient with chisels and hand-cut joinery Expert-level ability with rough-out work using a 16" saw and Makita chain mortiser Confident working on a raising crew, including pre-assembling bents/walls and signaling the crane Strong understanding of shop and job-site safety Able to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working as part of a team Willingness and ability to travel for projects Preferred Qualifications Experience operating a forklift in a shop environment Experience operating telehandlers and aerial lifts Proficiency with general carpentry tools and applications
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
