Job Summary CML Roofing & General Contracting is looking for experienced Siding Installers / Skilled Laborers to join our new in-house siding crew. We are an established exterior remodeling company serving Southern Maine, New Hampshire, and the surrounding areas. We are looking for dependable, hardworking individuals who take pride in their work and have experience with siding, carpentry, or residential exterior construction. This is a hands-on position working as part of a three-person crew under the direction of an experienced Siding Foreman / Lead Carpenter. You will assist with siding, window, door, trim, and other exterior installation projects while helping the crew complete projects safely, efficiently, and to CML's quality standards. Responsibilities Perform siding, window, door, and exterior trim installation on residential remodeling projects Install a variety of siding products, including vinyl, wood, and fiber cement siding, according to manufacturer specifications and company standards Measure, cut, prepare, and install siding, trim, flashing, soffit, fascia, and other exterior materials Assist with removal of existing siding and exterior materials and preparation of surfaces for installation Perform general exterior carpentry and repairs under the direction of the Crew Foreman Utilize hand tools, power tools, saws, siding brakes, scaffolding, ladders, and other construction equipment safely and efficiently Follow daily direction and assigned tasks from the Crew Foreman while working efficiently as part of the crew Assist with loading, unloading, organizing, and transporting tools and materials Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite throughout each project Follow all company safety procedures, including fall protection, ladder safety, and proper use of personal protective equipment Identify potential jobsite issues and communicate them promptly to the Crew Foreman Ensure completed work meets CML's workmanship and quality standards Properly use and maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles Skills Experience with residential construction, preferably siding installation, exterior remodeling, or carpentry Knowledge of siding installation techniques, exterior trim, flashing, weatherproofing, soffit, and fascia preferred Proficiency with common hand tools, power tools, saws, siding brakes, and exterior construction equipment Ability to accurately measure, cut, and install siding, trim, and other building materials General carpentry skills and ability to assist with exterior repairs and installation details Strong understanding of construction safety practices, including safe use of ladders, staging, and jobsite equipment Ability to follow direction while also working independently on assigned tasks Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to work efficiently as part of a crew in a fast-paced construction environment Dependable, hardworking, and willing to learn and develop additional siding and carpentry skills Ability to communicate effectively with the Crew Foreman, Project Managers, and other team members Qualifications Previous residential construction experience required Previous siding installation experience strongly preferred Carpentry or exterior remodeling experience preferred Experience installing windows, doors, exterior trim, soffit, or fascia is a plus Comfortable using common construction hand and power tools Ability to accurately read measurements and perform basic construction layout Reliable, professional, and able to work effectively as part of a team Willing and able to follow direction from the Crew Foreman Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and at heights Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to our South Portland location Ability to safely lift and carry construction materials and equipment Schedule & Location This is a full-time position based out of South Portland, Maine. The crew will generally meet at our South Portland location and travel together in a company vehicle to jobsites throughout Southern Maine and occasionally into New Hampshire. Most of our projects are located within approximately one hour of our South Portland, ME location or one hour of our Strafford, NH location.
Typical schedule:
