If you take craftsmanship and water management seriously, you will move up here. Job Description We're hiring a Siding Installer - Tech II (Skilled) who can independently run most standard siding elevations with limited supervision. This role owns layout, water management, flashing verification, difficult cuts and penetrations, quality self-inspection, and jobsite documentation. A Tech II here does not just "install siding." You plan the wall, keep water moving down and out, identify and escalate concealed conditions instead of covering them, and produce work that does not come back as a callback.

Siding Tech II → Tech III → Lead Installer / Crew Leader Key Responsibilities Independently run most standard siding elevations, from layout through final self-inspection Measure the wall, calculate course count from exposure, set level starter lines, and know where the cut course will land before installing Install and verify corners, J-channel, trim splices, undersill trim, top courses, and butt joints to company and manufacturer standards Verify water-management details: WRB laps, head flashing and drainage at openings, step and kickout flashing at roof-to-wall intersections, and siding held 1-2 inches above roof surfaces Complete difficult conditions such as gables, electrical panels, gas meters, vents, and close-together penetrations Select the correct fastener length and fastening method over foam, furring, and other non-standard substrates Plan butt joint locations across a full wall (3-foot minimum offsets, no stacked joints within 3 courses) Stop and escalate rot, water damage, missing or damaged housewrap, missing flashing, bowed walls, material shortages or damage, customer scope changes, and unsafe conditions — before anything gets covered Self-inspect your work and correct issues before Crew Lead review Keep documentation clean: required photos, checklists, and accurate time coding Maintain a safe, organized jobsite, protect customer property, and dry in and protect work before leaving Mentor Helpers and Tech I installers using explain, show, watch — and confirm they can perform the task Qualifications 2-3+ years of siding installation or comparable exterior trades experience, at or ready for Tech II standards Ability to independently install most standard siding elevations with limited supervision Strong layout skills: course planning, starter layout, gable layout, and joint planning Working knowledge of panel movement, expansion gaps, loose/centered fastening, butt joint offsets, top courses, and trim details Ability to verify and execute water-management details at windows, doors, roof-to-wall intersections, and penetrations Ability to recognize when a wall needs furring or shimming, and to spot rot, water intrusion, missing flashing, damaged panels, or mismatched material lots Sound judgment on when to stop, photograph, document, and escalate before continuing work Willingness to follow the manufacturer's written instructions and company SOPs, even when prior habits differ Comfortable working outdoors in seasonal conditions, on ladders and scaffold, and lifting/carrying materials Able to correct newer installers respectfully and effectively Valid driver's license Benefits Skills-based raises: you move up by passing skill certification checklists and practical sign-offs Clear advancement path: Tech II → Tech III → Lead Installer / Crew Leader, with written requirements for each level
