Clarificion from the agency Open to current and prior members of the Colorado Air Nional Guard. Duties Help Primary purpose is to accomplish the inspection, repair, modificion, installion and troubleshooting of sheet metal, fiberglass, bonded honeycomb and other structural merials and components as well as trement (i.e., mechanical and chemical), and painting of missiles, aircraft powered and nonpowered Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE), and monitoring aircraft and equipment washing. Independently inspects aircraft and determines the nure and extent of repairs to be made, using applicable technical orders as guidelines. Repairs cracks in aircraft skin. Troubleshoots aircraft structural repair situions in such areas as fuselage, tails, wings, cowlings, and stabilizers. Aligns and balances component structures and air frame using precision measuring instruments and levels. Inspects damage or deteriorion and determines repair or replacement of plastic, fiberglass, composites, bonded structures, and bonded honeycomb assemblies using powered and nonpowered tools and equipment. Manufactures and ensures th metal tubing, conduits and cables are fabriced and tested in accordance with drawings and specificions. Performs fabricion of local manufactured items requited for aircraft and equipment. Sets up and operes power shears, brakes, rolls, dimpling machines, drill presses, saws, portable powered tools, specific detection and measuring equipment, and other metal working equipment, including use of other tools of the trade. Prepares and designs layout, dies, jigs, and temples necessary to carry out fabricion repair or modificion of aircraft, engine, AGE, and other equipment. Identifies metal corrosion. Removes corrosion by mechanical and chemical procedures to include use of portable powered (electric and pneumic) sanders, buffers, brushes, bead blasters, vacuum cleaners, scrapers, grinders, acids, caustics, solvents, alcohols and other agents used in corrosion control processes. Applies protective coings, markings, and decals after proper removal of corrosion and trement of metals. Identifies, blends, stores, controls, and disposes of hazardous merials such as acids, caustics, alcohols, solvents, cleaners, primers and surface coings used for corrosion removal, trement and protection in accordance with applicable directives. May opere the wash rack. May assist in training of drill stus guard members and in maintenance of publicion files of applicable technical orders, regulions, manuals and local directives. Prepares for and participes in various types of readiness evaluions such as MEI, ORI, IG and UE inspections mobility and command support exercises. Performs other duties assigned. Requirements Help Conditions of employment This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Selectee required to wear the military uniform. May be required to successfully complete a trial period. Membership in the Colorado Air Nional Guard. Must hold the grade of E-1 thru E-5. Submit all required documention. Qualificions Military Grades :
E-1 through E-5 1. Specialized experience used to determine qualificions for the announced position. 2. Experience in planning, layout, and construction skills to manufacture items and systems with dovetailed seams, set-in-bottom seams, burred-bottom seams, or wired or lock seams. 2. Experience using more compliced shop tools and equipment. 3. Experience in using metals including stainless steel, copper sheet, magnesium, honeycomb merial and alloys. 4. Experience demonstring the use of more compliced mhemical calculions and compliced measuring instruments. Educion Educion cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
